Neuro-Stim System Bridge helps recovering opioid users with the pains of withdrawal.
Greenwood Indiana’s City court implemented a three part program, on January 30th, to help offenders in their fight against addiction. Greenwood plans to offer those currently on probation who are addicted to heroin, the opportunity to choose recovery as opposed to jail. By utilizing the Neuro-Stim System Bridge which helps ease the pain associated with opiate withdrawal. This device is the size of a quarter and is placed behind an individual’s ear. The bridge blocks the part of the brain that fires pain signals. It is worn for 5 days , long enough to make it through withdrawal, before turning to counseling or medication assisted treatment to maintain long term recovery.The device has been successful at area centers yet Greenwood is the first local government agency to implement its use.
